a victory also broadcast, for the first time, live on TV
Once again this year the Brooks Stralivigno 2024 fulfilled all its promises, giving
participants a Midsummer Saturday truly one to remember. Favorable weather, made ideal by beautiful sunshine and mild temperatures, welcomed the athletes at the start, making the event even more enjoyable and spectacular. Also excellent were the turnout and general participation, for an event that traditionally manages to attract equally measure runners from all over Italy, local sportsmen and a substantial number of foreign runners.
The 1,000 present at the start, including those registered for the historic 21-kilometer format and those who animated the highly appreciated relay, a race that offered the opportunity to share as a group a day of sports and contact with nature. In particular, much appreciated by all athletes, the final section of the course, embellished by two kilometers of trail: a moment of contact with the unspoiled nature of Livigno, and a glimpse of scenic beauty that left its mark on all participants.
Also particularly impressive was the passage of the runners through the center of the country, with the streets filled with tourists, fans and onlookers, who did not hesitate in expressing their support for the athletes, creating a unique and engaging: a real embrace from the entire community, which has always been attentive to the sports dynamics promoted and supported by the locality. Population, local and otherwise, who were also able to take advantage of the great novelty 2024 label, with the exclusive full live broadcast of the event transmitted on My Livigno Tv channels: a tool useful not to miss a single moment of the competition.
Men’s race that saw the clear success of Alex Baldaccini, with a time of 01:17:53, able to detach by almost
two minutes ahead of the runner-up, Finland’s Remi Lindholm, and by almost three Massimiliano Zanaboni, third at the finish line. In the women’s competition, on the other hand, a “round-the-world” podium, with final victory for Germany’s Nina Voelchel, in 01:31:05, ahead of Italy’s Ivana Iozzia and Finland’s Mina Oravamaki, testifying to the international character of the competition.
A day marked by collective participation that once again underscores the deeper soul of
Livigno, which is closely linked to sport and its values of sharing, respect and sustainability. A great emotion shared, which began in Aquagranda, the Olympic Preparation Center so familiar to hundreds of champions international champions, then continued through the streets of the center and the most picturesque paths, and concluded with the Felicetti Pasta Party and the awards ceremony in a crowded and jubilant Plaza Placheda: the perfect photograph to tell the story of our idea of competition and sport.
